Tears to Tiara Reborn On PS3

Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi

There has been a couple of SRPGs released or coming soon for the PS3 so far and Aquaplus’ Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi is another recent addition. In fact, it spots the same look and feel with its competition, but Aquaplus, the developers behind the game, has promised to deliver their best efforts for their PS3 debut.

Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi

Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi is actually based on a 2005 PC game of the same name, but Aquaplus revealed that this won’t be a straight port but a complete redesign, with only the story outline and characters survived from the original. Set in the world of sword and magic, the story begins with Arthur saving Riannon from being scarified to arise a powerful demon that said to possess powerful abilities. However, that doesn’t stop the demon and the main character of the game, called Arawn (above left), from appearing. Riannon eventually team up with Arawn, together with Arthur and a host of other cute girls, to fight against invading forces.

The battle system has undergone the most changes. While it was real-time 2D battle in the PC version, it becomes turn base strategy on the PS3. Obviously, everything will be in 3D now and from a recent issue of Famitsu report, the game is looking pretty solid. Characters are rendered with high details and colorful backgrounds that include streets, forest, river bank and even a coliseum can be seen. They reminds me of PSP’s Brave Story style, but it’s obviously much better here.
