Sony: GT5P Shipped 2.23 Million Worldwide

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

From its latest press statement, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue appears to be doing really well, with 2.23 million units worldwide shipment so far, pushing the cumulative shipment of the series to just over 50 million. Europe plays a big part in GT5P’s success, with 1.38 million copies from there alone. North America accounts for 550,000 of the figure while Japan and Asia has 270,000 and 30,000 copies respectively. The figure, which better than Gran Turismo 4 Prologue by 870,000 copies, also include those that download through the PlayStation Network.
