Some of The Refinements For White Knight Chronicles 2

Thanks to Final Fantasy XIII, I am still at the early stages of White Knight Chronicles. Although I did try very hard to get as far as I could, the story just isn’t interesting enough yet for me. However, I’m still going to finish it and anticipating the sequel, known as Shirokishi Monogatari: Hikari to Yami no Kakusei (I will call it WKC2 from now on) in Japan. There are some new information of the game in a recent issue of Weekly Famitsu showing off some of the improvements Level-5 is working on for its summer release in the country.
Story

Under Dregias, leader of an organization called Wizard in the first game, Ishurenia Kingdom wage war against everyone including main character Leonard’s home country Balandor and Foria, where two new characters this report introduced come from.
Foria

A huge kingdom which had previously went to war against Balandor. The two kingdoms are at peace now but after an assault by the Wizards which kills its king one year ago, things are pretty shaky with four officers running the kingdom.
New Character: Sukadain

The general for Foria runaway from his pursuers with Miu. He uses samurai blade for his weapon and has wide variety of skills during fighting. I am really liking his design a lot, which could be a knight in itself.
New Character: Miu

The 15-years-old girl from Foria is the grand daughter of the late Daramu. She is currently on the run with Sukadain and appears to be doubtful of her own ability. Although she doesn’t really like to fight, Miu carries a bow that makes her useful for long range attack.
Battle System

In order to let players immense themselves deeper during battles, character animations and visual effects have been greatly improved for WKC2. There will be more commands to use when fighting in knight form as well. Weapons in the game will get their own specific skills to further defined the job classes. Other new elements mentioned in the report include counter attack, range concept and players are free to decide when to defense now.

The command-based battle system is now faster and it will apparently provide more satisfaction for the players. Dash and Charge are among the new commands added. Action Chips, the currency to perform skills with higher damages, will now fill-up quicker as well. There’s a “Time Break” button above the MP gauge, it’s usage is still unknown.
New Enemies

Enemies also gain new skills in the sequel, some of them know how to call for helps while others can inflicts new status ailments to your characters. We get to target specific part of larger enemies for attack in the first game but this has been refined in the sequel to make use of the elemental attributes of your weapons.
Some of the new areas were revealed in the previous report but it is confirmed now that there are seasonal changes to them too.

A green-colored knight (above left) also appeared among the new screenshots although there are no information on this right now.
Live Talk
A feature all Level-5 fans will be familiar with is Live Talk. Your characters will automatically say something during movement or in the midst of battle.
