Sega Unveils Ryu ga Gotoku 3

Ryu ga Gotoku 3

Ryu ga Gotoku 3 is truly a surprise announcement for me in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (although I’m actually more excited at Shonen Jump’s Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2). Following the magazine report, Sega updated the series portal with the official logo of the game and nothing else. This announcement came only four months after Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! was released, one has to really amaze at the team’s efficiency.

According to creative officer Toshihiro Nagoshi, Kenzan is really just a quick ideas and his curiosity in finding out how it feels to have the characters set in the 1605-era Kyoto. The game went on to sell 30,000 copies, which Nagoshi said is good enough for him to feel confident in making the real sequel to the series. However, PS3’s power means more time is needed to make sure the game looks great and Nagoshi asks fans to be patient before the game come out. More from the inteview can be found here.

Update: Nagoshi updated his blog announcing the title (he opens his entry by acknowledging the early Weekly Famitsu leak :) and says that the game will has the most content for the series and again ask fans to wait patiently for the game.

Go: Ryu ga Gotoku portal and Toshihiro Nagoshi blog.
