Weekly Famitsu published a ranking for the sales of original IPs in the last financial year (Apr 1, 2008 – Mar 22, 2009) as part of their feature on up and coming new IPs to watch in 2009. DS games dominated the chart with Wagamama Fashion Girls Mode the top seller with 784,037 copies, more than double the amount of second place Wii Music. Sony published Shirokishi Monogatari: Inishie no Kodou (aka White Knight Chronicles) is at respectable third with 326,239 copies sold so far. Two other PS3 games are in the Top 10, Senjou no Valkyria (aka Valkyria Chronicles) at 8th with 141,589 copies and LittleBigPlanet at 10th with 111,160 copies. Demon’s Souls, a surprise hit according to the mag, is 12th with 93,274 copies and the last PS3 game to make it to the Top 20 is Afrika with 69,976 copies. Full table can be viewed here.
