Japan Weekly Software Ranking (Apr 13 – Apr 19)
So what kind of effects the Final Fantasy XIII demo has on PS3’s sales in Japan last week? Apparently it’s very big with the system getting a 43,000 units boost from the previous week, making it the best selling system for the week at 57,000 units. According my usual source for these early data, the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete BD that includes the FFXIII demo sold 272,000 copies, with 40,000 of them from Cloud Black Edition, which come with a special edition PS3. Killzone 2 is getting its Japanese release today, will be interesting to see how it does.
Update: ASCii MediaWorks, another research firm in Japan, also reported roughly the same figures as above with 56,000 units of PS3 and 270,000 copies of the demo sold. (Source: Mainichi)
Update 2: Media Create has PS3 at 62,527 units and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete at 274,774 copies.
