Japan To Get White PS3 Next Month

Sony just announced the 40Gb model PS3 for Japan, along with a great looking “Ceramic White” version of the console and a similarly colored DualShock 3 controller. The new model, like the just announced European version, will lose two USB ports, multi memory card port and will be incompatible with PS2 games. Japanese will be able to buy the console this November 11th for 39,980 yen (around $340), which is 10,000 yen cheaper than even the current 20Gb model. The current models of 20Gb and 60Gb will go for 44,980 yen and 54,980 yen (including tax) respectively from next Wednesday (Oct 17th), a reduction of 5,000 yen each.

On to the sexy looking DualShock 3 with the Rumble feature, announced during the Tokyo Game Show 2007, it will goes on sale for 5,500 yen ($47) from November 11th as well. The current controller is selling at around 4,500 yen. It worth noting that the 40Gb price above includes only the current SIXAXIS controller, so the entire package will still be at least 45,480 yen (around $388) for new buyers wanting DualShock.
