First Day Sales: White Knight Chronicles Sold 132,000 Copies

Sinobi has data of Shirokishi Monogatari: Inishie no Kodou launch performance in Japan and things are looking good for Sony and Level-5 as the game sold around 132,000 copies. This may not be the best opening day sales for a PS3 games (16th best, according to him) but it should do well over the weekend and as mentioned by Sinobi, might just end up being the second best selling PS3 game in its opening week (it currently sitting at 10th spot). I didn’t import the game myself, hoping for a English Asia version instead, but the game is currently very hard to get outside Japan.
Phantasy Star Zero is the other major launch of last Thursday and 63,000 copies were sold, which is far from Phantasy Star Portable launch number of 217,000 copies. Not sure if this is considered disappointing for Sega or not but let’s hope this will speed up their work on a sequel for the PSP version :) Another DS launch is D3 Publisher’s RIZ-ZOAWD which only has 2,000 copies to show for, Sinobi think this is the result of RPG overload in the country.
