Bayonetta Trailer At Famitsu

Bayonetta

Check out the short but stylish official trailer (scroll to the middle of the page) for Bayonetta at Famitsu’s website now. The game was first announced at London on Monday and in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu. Former Devil May Cry and Okami director Hideki Kamiya is working on it at his new office Platinum Games, which also boost the talents of Atsushi Inaba (Viewtiful Joe producer) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil creator). The latter is working on Madworld for the Wii.

BayonettaAccording to GameSpot, the game stars a modern day witch named Bayonetta who for some reasons, wage war against the angels. Famitsu says that Kamiya would like to emphasize the contrast between a witch and angels. The main character has guns on her hands and feet but can also fight empty handed with punches and kicks. Kamiya also feels that the 3D action adventure genre didn’t really progress as he expected and would like to evolve the genre with Bayonetta which can do more than just style and action with what he called “Climax Action”.

Bayonetta will only come out next year and to be published by Sega, who also got the website www.bayonetta.com registered, so expect more details soon.
