Official Fact Sheet
Get into the mood of traveling with the atmospheric and thrilling "Railfan"
Making effective use of PS3’s capabilities, this game includes not only actual HDTV footages taken in Japan but also others taken in America’s Chicago. Air footage is tried out for the first time using a helicopter to shoot footages along the route, allowing the presentation of the train en route in different angles. The game also includes an Outer View function allowing one to admire the beautiful street scenery from various angles while the train is moving.
Besides driving, one can also visit famous tourist attractions along the routes
Named after rail lovers, “Railfan” uses the system of the “Train Simulator” as the basis. Game modes include "Mission", "Train Tour" and "My Collection". In "Train Tour", one can even alight mid-journey and visit the Shinto shrines, gardens, art museums and other tourist attractions along the way. It is definitely not overboard to say that this is a train driving experience with variety.
This game has more than a FPS exciting mission content
"Railfan" includes three major city routes, the Brown Line of Chicago featuring the “L” raised rail which is frequently seen in movies, Tokyo’s Chuo Line and Osaka’s Keihan Main Line. The biggest feature is high picture quality footages taken with Hi Vision cameras, and the player can freely switch between different viewing angles, including explosive air footage of the scenery along the route taken with the help of helicopters. Sound will also not disappoint, with high-quality train moving sounds, motor sounds, station atmospheric sounds and other railroad-related sounds completely captured. Be touched like never before by this production that can only be realized by the PS3.
