- Part of Square Enix's "Fabula Nova Crystallis" project, although the only similarity between this title and Final Fantasy XIII is that both feature "Crystal" as the heart of their stories. Versus is currently under development by the team behind Kingdom Hearts II and overseen by Tetsuya Nomura.
Unlike FFXIII's futuristic setting, Versus takes place in a world that looks like present day Japan. Where the main character is the guard of the crystal that belong to a kingdom. Although it was latter revealed that this is not the only setting, as foreigners from other worlds have deep interest in the crystal as well. The story is still unclear, although "Versus" means "change of direction" in Latin and there are heavy focus on the action side of gameplay through the use of swords and magic.
